Fabi Pragier is a patisserie specialist focused on gluten-free and dairy-free desserts. She was building a premium e-learning platform , dozens of in-depth courses that would compete with established masterclass brands , and needed a production partner who could deliver broadcast-quality video and styled food photography at scale, without sacrificing the instructional clarity her audience requires.
The Brief
Produce the complete visual library for a premium culinary e-learning platform: over 45 instructional sessions averaging 40 minutes each, supported by professional founder portraiture and styled dessert photography. Every asset had to meet broadcast standards while remaining pedagogically clear for home bakers learning allergen-free techniques.
The Challenge
- The sheer volume , 45+ sessions at 40 minutes each , meant hundreds of hours of raw footage to capture, organise, and edit without quality drift.
- Instructional content has to be technically precise; a missed step or unclear angle undermines the entire course module.
- Food cinematography and teaching footage pull in opposite directions , one prioritises beauty, the other prioritises legibility.
- Three synchronised cameras had to run continuously across long sessions without interrupting the founder's natural teaching flow.
- Allergen-free desserts often lack the visual richness of traditional patisserie, so the photography had to compensate without misleading.
- The platform needed a unified look across video, portraiture, and product shots , assets that would typically come from three separate productions.
The Approach
- We designed the three-camera rig around instructional logic: wide for context, overhead for workspace, macro for technique detail , each angle serving a pedagogical purpose.
- Session scheduling was structured to capture related recipes in blocks, reducing setup changes and maintaining tonal consistency across modules.
- Lighting stayed fixed between video and stills to guarantee that course thumbnails, landing pages, and the videos themselves share the same visual temperature.
- The founder's portraiture was shot during natural breaks in the cooking sessions, capturing her in the actual workspace rather than a separate studio setup.
- Food styling for the finished desserts prioritised honest representation , the dishes had to look as good as they taste without relying on non-edible tricks.
- Post-production built a colour grade template from the first completed module and applied it across all subsequent sessions to lock the platform's visual identity.
The Execution
Production ran across multiple shoot days, each structured around recipe clusters to maximise efficiency. The three-camera setup , wide, overhead, and macro , ran continuously during cooking sessions, with the overhead rig mounted on a fixed arm to keep the workspace uncluttered. Between recipe sessions, we captured founder portraits and styled dessert photography using the same lighting setup, eliminating visual discontinuity. Post-production processed each module as a self-contained unit , colour grade, sound mix, chapter markers , before assembling the full course library. The final delivery included hundreds of hours of edited instructional content, a photographic suite of plated desserts, and a set of founder portraits formatted for web, social, and marketing collateral.
The Outcome
Fabi Pragier launched her e-learning platform with a market-ready library that positioned the brand at masterclass level from day one. The instructional video quality validated the premium course pricing, while the styled photography gave the platform's landing pages and marketing materials a cohesive authority that most food educators take years to develop. The unified production approach , video, portraiture, and food photography from a single pipeline , meant every visual asset shared the same DNA, and the founder could focus on curriculum and sales rather than commissioning additional shoots.
