1. Who we are

Morax Photography (“we”, “our”, “us”) is a commercial photography and moving-image studio based in London, United Kingdom, operated by Etienne Morax. For any privacy-related enquiry, you can reach us at info@moraxphotography.com. We act as the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

2. What data we collect

  • Contact form submissions: your name, email address, company (optional), and the content of the message you send us.
  • Email correspondence: any information you choose to share when contacting us directly.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited, collected automatically through server logs and privacy-respecting analytics.
  • Client project data: information shared during the scoping, production, and delivery of a commissioned project (briefs, shot lists, contact persons at your organisation).

3. How we use your data

We process personal data for the following purposes:

  • Responding to enquiries submitted through the contact form or by email.
  • Preparing and delivering commissioned photography and video services.
  • Issuing invoices and meeting our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
  • Monitoring site performance, diagnosing issues, and improving the user experience.
  • Publishing Morax Photography’s own portfolio and editorial content on social platforms (see section 5).

4. Legal bases for processing

Under the UK GDPR we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Contract: to negotiate, deliver, and invoice commissioned services.
  • Legitimate interest: to respond to your enquiries, operate and secure the website, and promote our own work on our professional social channels.
  • Consent: where explicitly requested, for example for non-essential analytics or marketing emails. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation: to retain accounting records as required by UK law.

5. Social media and third-party platforms

We publish our own editorial content (articles, portfolio images, captions) to the official Morax Photography accounts on LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, and Facebook. This publication is carried out through each platform’s official API. We only post content we have created or licensed, from accounts we own and operate.

We do not collect, store, or process personal data of other users of these platforms through our publishing tools. If you follow, like, comment, or otherwise interact with our accounts, your interactions are governed by the privacy policy of the relevant platform:

6. Service providers

We rely on a limited number of trusted providers to operate this website and our services. They process personal data only on our instructions and under appropriate data-processing agreements:

  • Vercel Inc. — website hosting and delivery.
  • Cloudflare, Inc. — content delivery, media storage (R2), and network security.
  • Google Workspace — professional email and calendar.
  • Notion Labs, Inc. — editorial and project management.

Some providers may process data outside the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area. Where this is the case, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Cookies and analytics

This website uses a minimal set of technical cookies required to operate the site securely, and may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregated visitor trends. We do not use advertising cookies, nor do we share personal data with advertising networks.

8. Data retention

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above. Contact-form and enquiry messages are retained for up to 24 months unless a commercial relationship begins. Client and invoicing records are retained for at least six years to comply with UK accounting requirements. Server logs are retained for a short period for security and diagnostics.

9. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”);
  • request the restriction of processing;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interest;
  • request your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@moraxphotography.com. We will respond within one month.

10. Complaints

If you believe we have not handled your personal data in accordance with the law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We would, however, appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns directly first.

11. Children

Our services are directed at businesses and professional clients. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices, service providers, or legal obligations. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
